The word “primary” means first or the highest ranking. Therefore “Primary Care Treatment” means drug treatment of the highest priority. Our primary treatment program features various modalities of therapy so that the addicted person can be set free from their particular malady. Treatment is a process that should not have negative associations of confinement or restrictions of free will. Counselors can not force addicted people get well. Alcohol and drug rehabilitation is not easy. Addicted people come to us with impaired judgment and awareness. With the support and knowledge gained through our counselors and our leading edge alcohol and drug rehabilitation program, an addict’s power and ability to overcome their addiction increases. They begin to understand that they alone are responsible for their recovery and ultimately to prevent a return to addicted behavior. But this almost always involves considerable despair, frustration, and anguish along the way. The individual learns they must re-define themselves and their goals to prevent relapse when they are back in the environment that the addiction developed or festered.

Permanent recovery requires getting to the cause of the addiction and treating it at its roots, a task that takes an incredible amount of skill and patience, the kind we have at Ambrosia Treatment Center. Our counselors and other addiction treatment team members take into account a number of factors unique to each client; reasons for using, age, culture, gender, specific issues, etc., enabling us to prepare an individualized drug treatment plan.
